Expected an uber movie, having plowed through the gaming trilogy on the PS2... Ok , i didn't exactly get to complete the 2nd episode because of a supposed glitch, where a missing ladder stopped my progress. Anyways the Prince of Persia movie definitely was not up expectation.. Fairly interesting plot, but too little use of the acrobatics and rewinding powers which made the game so oohh and ahhh...

Shrek Forever After is not funny man. I don't know, my friends, the whole theater was LOL every now and then, but i maybe broke out into a laugh only once in the entire show. The Pied Piper segment was arguably the best part of the show, but even that had been boring for me, cos of a newspaper review which carried a giant picture of the Pied Pier and went on to describe a little too much (aka spoiler)... Duh. The story was interesting though, though intact with all the cliches and predictable ending. On to Price of Persia.

Following the flying kicks and punches of yesterday, today was time to settle into some metallic action. More CGI effects, more action packed flying and zooming about, but not as engaging and exploratory as the first. Still worthy to watch though. The coolest move had to be that 360 degrees ultra smack laser finisher unleashed near the end of the film.
One downright boo segment though: the super-uber anti-climatic ending, with the usual lets-end-the-movie-with-the-obligatory-1-hit-kill-special-move-so-everyone-can-finally-go-to-the-toilet.
And can't imagine whats it gonna be like to have a Yip Man vs Ironman movie wooz!
me at 10:48 PM
Yip Man 2 upped the ante as expected. More flying fists and more wapow action, though the story was fairly mundane and predictable. A 3D version (with flying tables and chairs, swooshing fists) would be cooler though.

Playing the Wii is awesomely tiring. One 100m dash has me gasping for breathe. A 3-set game of tennis drains me out. 4 x 100m swimming has me wanting the switch off the set immediately after the race. Or am i just getting old.

hunt down cheap, used copies of Wii games. Traveled almost the entire MRT line. Man i am hardworking when it comes to games.
Bought so far:
Super Paper Mario
Castle Shikigami III
Mario Strikers Charged
Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
Mario Galaxy
Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games
Super Smash Bros Brawl
More to come!

Here comes the Wii!!! Courtesy of my sis who won it in a sch contest woooz!!! Time to send my beloved PS2 into semi retirement, while i have a fling with the Wii!

Clash of the Titans- the movie that let the final bosses go down in matter of seconds. Imagine the big boss shown in the trailers, tossing and flailing about, coupled with massive town destruction set pieces, near the end of the film. Then the hero takes a very giant leap of faith and defeats the gigantic boss in like a second. Right after that the final boss of the movie shows up, and too got defeated, maybe this time in 2-3 seconds. And the movie abruptly ends. What!!!

Caught the anime movie Summer Wars; what a weird and unique storyline, with a clever mix of fighting action and solid storyline, strongly recommended to anime fans!

happy CNY!!! Went to watch little big soldier... theaters still open but malls almost empty... lack of action, but show quite funny and has a very strong plot... 2 more days of holidays!

Just had CNY dinner, helping clear the dishes... but why are there nearly 20 plates to wash for a 4-person meal?!! Happy CNY!!!
me at 9:23 PM

Sherlock Holmes movie, nice one. Cleverly inserted yet not overused portions of slow motion to explain fight scenes, fair mix of fights and mystery, with practically something interesting happening every minute of the film, though i found every mystery to be too inconveniently explained at the end of the film... Kudos to the bro-mance!
me at 10:17 PM
And here i am, having a fever... sick and resting at home, likely screwing all plans for the entire weekend as well. At least there's still the television telecast to look forward to.

week 4, movie 4. And what a stunner Avatar was compared to a certain warrior movie. Engaging plot, nice and paced development, The graphics were just so awesome (and reminiscent of Final Fantasy games), and nothing can be said about those intense, fired-up battle scenes. No need for slow-mo shots (yes, unlike that certain warrior movie), no need for pretty faces, no need for silly plot twists, just rock-solid story telling will do the trick. And did the show end with a Titanic-esque ending? You gotta watch it yourself.
Next up, Sherlock Holmes.
me at 10:11 AM
Ahh!!! What was the storm warriors about. A plot that can be summarized in barely 2 sentences, minimal character development, lotsa unnecessary slow-mo shots, and of course scenes that were 300-ish and matrix-ish (those were cool stylish shows, but no point repeating those scenes here
lah). Aaron Kwok was more or less wearing a semi-frustrated expression throughout the show, and seemed to only utter like what, 2 sentences for the entire show. Yes, lack of action people complain, too much action people also complain.
On to Avatar.

Have watched 2012 and New Moon...
leaving 3 more must-watch for this year:
Storm Warriors 2
Avatar
Sherlock Holmes
And its been so long since i tried to enter my blog through the URL (i always just log in through the blogger website), that i actually forgot what was the exact website address. Duh.

Part 2 of the twilight saga, New Moon. Ok maybe im not the lovey-dovey type of person, but the whole show was just so draggy and emo. I have read the book, and knew this 2nd part has a really slow build-up and barely any action scenes, but the film just made it so much worse. Only 15 min or so towards the end of the movie (meaning the 1st 1 hr 45 min or so was a bore-fest) did the story pick up pace and generate excitement, letting the action (really cool though) and tense atmosphere take over. Heck, most of the action sequences is already shown in the trailers. And whats with the shrills and commotions when the character Jacob took off his shirt for the first time.

World Cup draw is done!!! Woohoooz! Let the countdown begin!!! Looking at the draw, North Korea will probably have a very hard time against the likes of Ivory Coast, Portugal and the football kings themselves, Brazil. Germany Australia Serbia Ghana seems an interesting group too, while Group B's Argentina, Greece, Nigeria and South Korea may throw up some surprises. Overall quite well balanced groups, but its a tad disappointing to learn that teams in groups ABCD will not meet any team from groups EFGH till the final itself...
Time to plan the leaves (and mcs).
me at 11:30 PM
Really excited about the World Cup draw... Wooz!!!
me at 7:39 PM
